In times of need counts the deed

For almost 75 years the Lillo family has been producing clothing, and specialised in the production of trousers, in the province of Castilla-La Mancha in the southeast of Spain. This province lives mainly from tourism and agriculture. Accordingly, the textile industry gives valuable additional impulses to the local economy.

With the lockdown, which was particularly severe in Spain, the company’s most important markets collapsed. An extremely dramatic event. Their entrepreneurial spirit did not allow José Eugenio Lillo and his wife to give up. Looking for a way out of the crisis they decided to expand into the production of protective clothing for the health sector.

For us, choosing our producers is not just a question of quality. Because of our commitment to sustainable development, we also look specifically for companies to whom we can give a positive impulse. That’s why we care about our partners in Spain and Portugal. So we were all the happier when José Eugenio told us that his company was the only one of three companies in Spain to be certified for the production of face masks. A step forward into a hopefully still successful future! We congratulate them!
